Previously, we discussed teeth whitening and what can cause your teeth to become discolored. In our new blog, we want to look at some of the options available for whitening your teeth.
At-home whitening systems: An at-home kit is prescribed by your dentist and consists of custom-made trays. These trays are filled with a whitening gel that will be worn once a day for about 30 minutes at a time. Depending on the level of discoloration and what your desired results are, treatment time varies.
In-office system: Another teeth whitening option that we offer our patients is an in-office procedure. For individuals who receive an in-office whitening procedure, the procedure may take 2-3 appointments.
Veneers/crowns: Custom made veneers and crowns can be created to match the shade of white you are looking for. If your teeth have been damaged, veneers or crowns may be a good option for restoring the tooth.
There are a number of teeth whitening toothpastes, however, we do not recommend using these products. Whitening toothpastes work by adding abrasives to the paste to scour the stain off the teeth.
