Remedies For Dry Mouth
Now that we have discussed what dry mouth is and what triggers it, we will now discuss some tips for finding relief.
Tips to relieve dry mouth include:
- Increasing your water consumption.
- Developing healthy dental habits including brushing, flossing, and using mouthwash.
- Chewing gum that contains xylitol.
- Utilizing a humidifier at night.
- Using lip balm, if needed.
- Using a saliva substitute, if needed.
Unfortunately, many times the cause of your dry mouth cannot be changed. The reason for this is because it is oftentimes caused by medications which have to be administered.
The above will help you find some relief for your dry mouth, but will not actually heal the problem. In our next blog post, we will take a look at some additional options for finding relief.
